Insurance cover for fingerprint systems: the topic of the Idencom workshop
Idencom has just held its first workshop on VdS and insurance cover when using fingerprint systems in Berlin. Leading companies from the lock, door and hardware industry were invited to this inaugural event. The programme included technical presentations by representatives of the insurance industry and VdS, which were then discussed in depth. The presentations focused on smart home/apps and insurance guidelines, as well as requirements for the use of electronic access control systems. During the one-day event, participants were able to gain an impression of which security-related criteria could influence consumers' purchasing decisions in future, and which requirements fingerprint systems should meet in order to ensure insurance cover even in cases of doubt. To go with this, Idencom presented its insurance cover checklist, which is included with all products. Due to the great demand, the company plans to hold further workshops this year.
